Marian Council #3827 is Minnesota’s largest Knights of Columbus chapter, part of a billion-dollar international Catholic organization. We promote family life, education and citizenship. Annually we donate charitable fundraising and volunteer hours to the Richfield-Bloomington area, including: Firemen’s Softball Tournament for youth, Tootsie Roll Drive for children with intellectual disabilities, Vocations Dinner for local seminary’s, Student Loan Dinner for college, Coats for Kids for warm coats for children, Keep Christ in Christmas a free community party, Golf Tournament which benefits youth charities, Respect for Life events, and Loaves & Fishes helping to feed Richfield and Bloomington’s poor.
Our council was chartered in 1954. When our ballroom was blessed in 1957, it was surrounded by fields, now a booming thoroughfare! Thousands of newlyweds held receptions in the room where they “met their match” at CYO dances.
Today we serve new generations of multi-cultural families with parties, fundraisers and athletics. We remain Bloomington and Richfield’s largest charity, and a force for good.
Join us. Benefits. We welcome everyone to our activities, but members must be Catholic men age 18+. See your parish priest, another Knight, our membership director, or just show up!
Our member business meeting is every second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. All Knights and priests are welcome. We meet at 1114 W. American Blvd., Bloomington, Minnesota. Committee meetings are usually held here, too.
The parish is the center of faith life. Our founder, Father Michael McGivney, wanted Knights of Columbus in every parish. They would provide manpower, fundraising and family events. Knights also support vocations and Catholic education.
Some parishes have their own small Knights of Columbus council. Large councils often serve several parishes, linking resources through a network of parish Round Tables.
A pastor establishes the Round Table. He appoints a chairman and establishes tasks. Knights in the parish coordinate by email or Tweets (rather than hold meetings).
